Lane Oiling Instructions
- Ensure all lanes being oiled are off, scoring is off, no pins/balls are in the lanes, the rakes aren't down, and the bumpers aren't up
- Address any issues before proceeding
- Open door to oiler box
- Roll the oiler out of the box
- Review screen on oiler
- If warning is showing, tap to close it
- If it is completely blank, one of two things has occurred:
- Machine isn't charged
- Make sure it is plugged in and turn on the charger using switch above oiler box
- Rotate red button on top of oiler until it pops up
- This is the emergency stop button and sometimes gets pressed on accident
- Screen will start up after rotating it
- When screen is showing login form, enter passcode
- If you need it and don't know, ask Joel
- Check conditioner (a.k.a. oil) temp (bottom right value)
- If temperature is red or yellow, tap on Temp Cycle button (middle, left side of screen)
- Once the temperature is in the green (>70 degrees), tap on Temp Cycle button to turn off heater
- When temperature is green, proceed with next steps
- Turn off charger using switch above oiler box
- Once charger (white box attached to wall) is no longer showing any display (nothing lit up), unplug the oiler
- Using two hands and with hip up against machine, lower machine down
- Caution: Machine is very heavy
- Ensure pattern is correct
- House pattern is currently “OLD BDB V4”
- Set starting lane (e.g. “1”), ending lane (e.g. “8”), and current lane (e.g. “1”)
- Move the machine to the approach for the starting lane
- Check where you set the machine down for any liquid that may have dropped when you lowered the machine
- Press button on handle of oiler
- Wait until blue screen is shown on oiler screen indicating the machine is ready to be put on the lane
- See Appendix A below if you get a message indicating the machine is out of conditioner or cleaner. It is best to fill both the conditioner and cleaner even if only one is out
- Line center of oiler up with center lane board
- Push machine completely onto the lane
- Press button on handle of oiler
- Release handle
- Machine will now go down and back, cleaning and conditioning the lanes
- This takes about 1 minute
- If any issues occur during this process, call Joel
- Once machine has returned and stopped, grab handle and pull machine off of the lane
- “Current” lane will automatically update to next lane, if not on lane 8
- Repeat steps 13-19
- After running the first two lanes, you have completed the “burn” of the lanes
- This ensures conditioner is in the machine so it should be more consistent between lanes
- Reset the “Current” lane to the starting lane
- Oil all lanes repeating steps 13-20 for each lane
- After lane 8 completes, if you need to continue on lane 1, set “Current” lane to “1”
- Once all lanes are done being oiled, take the machine off of the last lane and pull it down between lanes 1 and 2
- Open the machine up by turning the knob on the top of the machine near the front-side (the side that knocks down the pins), and then pulling up each of the two top (greenish-yellow) pieces.
- Remove hose from cleaner tank
- Pull cleaner tank straight up
- Do not pull at an angle
- It is a tight fit so it may be hard to pull up
- Take cleaner tank take to bathroom and dump in toilet out of the same hole you removed the hose from in step 26
- Put cleaner tank back in machine and reattach hose
- With two hands, pick up oiler so it is standing upright
- Caution: Machine is very high
- Do not pick up too quick to ensure it does not flip over when picking it up
- Using a towel (available behind bar under pizza ovens), wipe down machine following directions from sticker on machine including the following:
- Cleaner spray nozzles
- Squeegee for cleaner vacuum
- Apply pressure to rubber mat in angled squeegee to get cleaner out of it
- Wipe inside angled squeegee
- Wheels on bottom of machine
- Conditioner spray nozzles
- Apply pressure to rubber mat below the spray nozzles
- This is the most likely place that extra liquid will come out
- Clean up any liquid that may have dropped off of the machine when you cleaned it
- Return machine to the oiler box
- Plug machine back in
- Flip switch to turn charger back on
- Once the charger has started and it is pulling amps (shown on the charger), close the oiler box
- Congratulations! You oiled the lanes!
